EYE
Eye: (phrasal verbs and idioms)
The sight was enthralling. I was feasting my eyes on it for
a long time as she approached to the yard and yelled at me, “Come on,” her eyes
popping out of her head. Having seen her keep her eyes peeled at me I couldn’t
resist myself from reaching her.
“Do not worry. Everything will be fine.” I said sitting
beside her.
“He was the apple of my eyes.” She started sobbing. I gently
tapped on her shoulder and assured her.
“You’re tired. First get shut-eye before noon. Then you will
catch a red-eye train and by tomorrow you will get your eye candy daughter.” I
smiled at her.
She disappeared in the blink of an eye. While returning she
brought a cup of coffee for me. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw her wiping
her tears.
